CURRICULUM FOR SHORT STORY: Inge is a cruel presuming girl who dies and goes to hell, when she sinks in a moor and can hear the things said about her on earth. Most speak of her faults, but one girl only felt pity for her. Her compassion lets Inge make amends for her cruelty. She trod on that loaf of bread just to keep from soiling her new shoes. This was only the last of the cruel and thoughtless things that Inge did. It cost her life when she sank into a bog. Her experiences in her afterlife teach her mercy, kindness, and redemption.
