CURRICULUM FOR CHAPTER BOOK: Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire are sent to live with their distant relative, Count Olaf, after their parents die in a tragic fire. The Baudelaires soon find out that Count Olaf is after their fortune. Violet, Klaus, and Sunny realize that they must find a way to stop him. They are heartbroken by their parents' death and Count Olaf is a cruel man scheming to steal the Baudelaire fortune, but the children stick together and use their talents to solve problems. Violet uses her skills of invention, Klaus his knowledge from books, and Sunny uses her strong baby teeth and cooking skills to succeed in escaping from Count Olaf.
