CURRICULUM FOR SHORT STORY: The good king was so just and kind that when the Fairy Truth offered him a wish, he wished that she would make his son, Prince Darling into the best of princes. This she could only do by befriending and reprimanding him when he did wrong. At first Prince Darling accepts the pricks of the magic ring she gives him and tried to be good, but he grows tired of it and throws it aside. He becomes very wicked and the fairy has to punish him severely by turning him into a hideous monster. Over time he redeems himself and the fairy restores him to his natural form and gives him back his kingdom.
